History addendum: Due to her pull-point, a little headcanon is required to catch Mikaela up to later events. Post RotF, Mikaela ended up breaking up with Sam. Canonically, even her dog, to which she was the primary owner, was left behind, which presents a rather suspicious president.
Unfortunately, freeing herself from her rather pitiful boyfriend cost her the 'in' she had with the Autobots, much to her additional distress. Given the increasing volatility of the American government in subsequent films, it is not outside the realm of probability that she was 'locked out', clearance revoked, etc, once she was no longer in the golden boy's good graces. Civilian contacts would only be viewed as a liability.
Given the sudden blackout, it would not be surprising that Wheelie and Sam would refer to her so scornfully in the third film if they had thought she had willingly cut all contact.
Post-breakup, Mikaela continued looking after her ex-con father and working in custom auto-shops, generally living the mundane life Sam himself had coveted. The events of DotM, as world-wide news, would not have escaped her attention.
She has no involvement in the events of DotM or AoE up through her pull-point.

● PERSONALITY:
On the surface, you might think that Mikaela is the standard teenage girl in a male-driven movie series. Pretty, boy-crazy - she admits it herself - a brainless bit of fluff there for simple eye candy. While not outright vain, Mikaela knows she looks good. She has no problems wearing what she's comfortable with - or using her looks to distract and beguile. But there is more to Mikaela that what meets the eye at first glance.
Despite the 'simple' image she tends to present to the world, Mikaela is very smart. While not explicitly focused on book-smarts, seeing how college never appeared to be an option for her in the films, she prefers working with her hands. When it comes to cars, motorcycles, and vehicles in general, Mikaela knows her stuff. Beyond general knowledge, even fresh out of high school Mikaela has acquired enough advanced know-how to make a career out of of it. And she gets understandably irritated when boys discount her abilities or don't think she 'should' do that sort of 'guys' work. She doesn't tolerate being talked down to because of her gender or being treated as weaker than she is, readily walking out on a 'hot', popular guy when he didn't treat her the way she appreciated. She is definitely no one's doormat.
Despite all the running and screaming that happens when she's around giant fighting robots, Mikaela displays incredible bravery. Her fight or flight response seems tuned right into 'fight', sometimes even when it's not really something she could conceivably fight against. When attacked by Frenzy - and while her future boyfriend was on the ground screaming hysterically- Mikaela went on the offensive, attacking violently and hacked the person-sized Decepticon to pieces. She has something of a vicious streak, and Mikaela has some wiles to her when crossed. She is definitely not afraid to make ruthless choices in the heat of battle.
But that bravery also makes her fiercely loyal. She won't leave her friends stranded in a fight, going so far as to risk her own life rushing back into open battle-zones; be it to try and reach her boyfriend or refusing to abandon an injured Bumblebee on the field. Even the law is no deterrent; she refused to rat her father out to the cops, taking a juvenile record over increasing her dad's stay in jail for auto theft. Mikaela takes incredible risks for her own, special people; steadfast as long as they loyal to her in turn. Her fear for the other people around her often outweighs the fear for herself. Even when it seems to cause most of her troubles in life.
Which brings up the thing she really seems to fear: attachment- and losing that attachment outside of her own terms.
...Megatron is probably a close second.
Despite all her apparent bravery, it's that more mundane worry that draws her up short. Breaking up with Sam the first time was partially a symptom of that. She didn't want to lose him to college and distance, and wanted to end it on her own terms. Losing her dad to jail and having a seemingly non-existent mother has given her some attachment issues. But she goes out of her way to prove herself to them repeatedly, when it's really needed.
● ABILITIES: Aside from being your mostly average, if attractive, human girl, Mikaela has rather notable skills with mechanics. Mikaela would probably describe herself as a simple 'greasemonkey', but her skills are a bit more specialized than that. From various illicit activities- to hot-wiring cars and the logistics of the inner workings of chop-shops - to customizing cars and motorcycles, Mikaela has a bit of a resume, despite her education stopping just after high school. She can take them apart and put them back together again, better than before.
She also has some incidental knowledge of Cybertronian anatomy, gleaned over the years both from watching battlefield and post-battle repairs, and from discussions with the Autobots themselves.
● INVENTORY: The clothes on her back, keys, and a now mostly useless smartphone.
● GAMEPLAN: Mikaela's overall plan will, of course, be going home. If they have to jump through some weird hoops to do it, she'll be down with that. I would definitely focus on her mechanical talents - her skills with repairs and customization, and her base joy in finding out what makes things tick. Exploring the technology of the base and the relics of the lost places brought in during events, and expanding her knowledge and expertise in the process would be one of her main drives. She'd want to be useful, and given the end goal, would take great pride in gaining respects and friendships through it.

So. I'm still not entirely sure what we're doing here - or even how we got here, for that matter. Hyper-aliens? Warp drive? Sci-fi physics? Yuck, I don't even know.
But if it'll help us all get home, I really can't object to, you know, doing my part and stuff. Not sure how useful I'll be, but well. Gotta start somewhere?
So, making this like one of those awkward, first-day-of-class introductions - I'm Mikaela. I'm pretty good with mechanics and repairs, so if someone could just point me in the direction of some basic tools around here, that would be great.
